Part of our training was different alerts. This one consisted of pulling all our equipment out within 30 minutes, moving back about 15 miles and setting up the guns to fire. The guns have been "layed in", the phone lines are in and we are about to set up a "fire mission" The man in the truck was called the "computer" he uses a slide rule to convert distance to the target into the gun elevation. I, standing, am handling the chart and will plot target coordinates as they come in. Lorenze Pelayo and Lt Harper are on the phones. |
