Able battery area: Since the end of the fighting most of the battery has now moved out of the bunkers and into tents. The bunkers were warmer but not as healthy. Also, some of the bunkers were ready to collapse. At the base of the hills runs a road. In front of the road is a river which cannot be seen. We are on this side of the river. To the left are two quanset huts then a row of tents to their right. The small shack in the foreground is the officers hut. The bunkers are the low mounds this side of the tents. They were all filled in after this photo was taken. The underground mess hall was saved. It was made into a beer hall. Our tent and bunker are behind the camera and up on the hill, near where the guns are dug in. (photo dated March, 1954)
