Ready to move out! Each gun is towed a 5 ton truck which also carries ammo. The crew travels in a lighter truck. Each gun section also has a track to move the gun into its final position, or pull it out when done firing. The battery consists of four gun sections, FDC section, a radio and wire section, survey section, headquarters section ,cooks, drivers, mechanics, clerks, etc. A total of approx 150 people to maintain and fire the four guns. |
