Isn't this a beautiful shot. This was taken from our LST as we came into Yokohama Bay. This photo came from one of my 35mm slides. After 48 years, none of the slides have faded. I'm told that's because these slides were kodachrome transparencies, which at the time was all that was available. The cost of the film included the developing. After the roll was shot I would send it in their little bag direct to Kodak. Most times I would put my parents address as the return. Some slides I didn't see until I came home.

When I project this slide on a large screen I can see all the details on the two boats. Note the little boat way off to the left. The people in the far east row their boats with one oar. They stand up and push the oar back and forth in the back. It works similar to a fish's tail. Hey, soon I'm going on that 3 day pass in Tokyo!   (continued)
