Especially if you served in Korea -- J. Sexton

Sorry to report that my father, John Sexton, who created this site, passed away on 11-Oct-2005, aged 72 years.  I plan to keep the site up indefinitely. -- Sean Sexton

Comments: Hi John! I just wanted to thank you again for putting together this website. It's so much fun to read about my grandpa, "Whitie" Hervas, and to see all the pictures. I was wondering if you would mind if I would copy the pictures on your website so I could put them on a disk and then print them out for my grandpa? I wanted to get your permission first.
Thanks, Sarah Hervas

Comments: Great site!! Brings back a lot of memories. Went to Korea in '56 to the 73rd tk bn. Later to Camp Drake where I was assigned to the personel center. Exactly one year at Drake and then rotated back. Asaka Machi was just outside the gate. Always went to the KOOL Bar there. Koziko was her name. Wonder if she's still there. The Air Force had a flying club in the Tokyo area and since I had a private pilot's license, they let me join. They had one airplane, a 2 seat Aeronca Champ which they kept at Chofu. I had the use of the plane anytime I wanted and and did quite a bit of flying around the area. Drake had a small landing strip and I even flew to Drake a couple times. Getting to the airport was no problem because my buddy, an MP, had a 1948 Oldsmobile. I could go on all nite about my good times over there. One thing I do remember was the 89th day after I was discharged from the Army. That gave me one more day to decide to re-up and keep the E-5 rate and a choice of station. I sure came close to doing it, but chose the civilian life instead. If any of this brings back memories, I'd like to hear from you.

Comments: As anime and Manga fans, I was interested to see pictures of Japan from the early fifties. I was also interested to see that you were stationed at a base around Mt. Fuji. (the Mt. Fuji secret base is an old Anime prop). Also my uncle, Stanley Strand served in the Marines in Korea in 1951.

Greetings; after reading your info, it appears we were in Korea at app. the same time, although in different company's. I arrived in June of 54 and left in Sept of 55. I too landed at Inchon, taken a old train North and then rode truck all night and then ended up at the DMZ.
I am looking for former comrades of the 3rd Div. 3rd AAA AW BN SP units [antiaircraft 40MM and Quad 50 Machine Gun group] who served in Korea during 53-54.
After the 3rd Div. left Korea for Hawawii I was transfered to C Com. of the 15th. AAA of the 7 th. Inf. Div. Thanks; Any help will be appreciated. -- Thanks
By the way, you have a good site on the web.

Looking for Korean Vet John Paterson.
I know very few about John Paterson and I try to forward any information. The only information I am sure is that he stopped in France before he went to Korea because he is my Dad. That was in 1950.
Got your address surfing on the web. -- Thank you very much to proceed with my query. -- Johnny

Comments: Great site! My reunion group needs to do something this well. We were the Kyushu Gypsy squadron (21st TCS/6461st TCS). We were called the Kyushu Gypsies because we moved all over Kyushu during the first year of the Korean War. We were at Tachikawa, Itazuke, Brady, and Ashiya. We finally settled down at Ashiya Air Base, with our aircraft and aircrews stationed in Korea as detachments.

Thanks for posting your web site. My dad was over there then and I never really talked to him about it when he returned ( guess I was to young to ask the right questions). It's a great site and you guys that were over there were the best. There's always the chance that you might have known or heard about my dad. His name was John G. Fuller and he was an advisor with KMAG. Again thanks alot for posting your site.
Sincerely, Steve Fuller
