birds and strawberries - strawberry patch - robins - birds eating strawberries
Strawberry Rocks!

For three years now, I have put the above rocks in my strawberries. I placed them about every 18 inches, just level with the leaves. By putting them in the patch just when the plants blossom. (before there are any ripe berries) seems to work best. The birds see the red rocks and peck at them. Soon they give up and don't return when the crop ripens. This has worked for three years. I still lose a few along the edge of the patch

The above has worked well in june berries. I'm not sure if the birds are dumb enough to stay away all year.

See close up of the  "ROCKS".

-- Good luck. Let me know if your birds are as dumb as our Wisconsin birds.
