Greetings from Texas Thank you for posting the Golf Pictures and including the names. Gradually, with repetition, I'm starting to be le to match the faces with the names. Maybe next year (God willing) I'll join you for the luncheon if I may. Sorry to hear you were in the hospital but glad to hear you are back. I hope they fixed the problem. Best regards to all, Don Dupaul

Hi John, Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know I really appreciate the work you devote to the class of '51 web site. I just went through the golf pictures and it's a good thing you listed all the names at the bottom of each picture. After all these years there is no way I could identify those "old men" without their names. We moved to St. Cloud in August so I'm hoping I can make it to St. Paul for a monthly lunch meeting or better yet to the next golf get-together. My wife had a stroke three years ago and since I am her primary care-giver, finding time for any outside activity is hard to come by. At any rate, thanks for the website and keep up the great work. Take care. Bob Frost

I am still around, but very diappointed at the failure of Catholics to vote for values in current election. Aren't we the pro-life people? We ought to be ashamed of our record.

All is well in California. I just returned from a Polar Bear tour in northern Canada. Interesting! As a couple on our tour from Minnesota said "I/ve never this cold my life" I get to St. Paul once or twice a year and tip a few with Bredahl and Beckstrom. If anyone is coming through the Central Coast of California, please stop and say hello. Jim Ciernia

We have been getting a lot of visitors who have been filling up the guestbook with prono and garbage so I set up a password to filter out the above. Try the "add" page and see if you are one of the chosen few. This old guy is getting too old to learn new tricks. So I hope this all works. - John

Hi John, Just a note of thanks for keeping us updated on our class events. Even if I can't participate, (Christmas Lunch), I enjoy knowing what is going on and envy you who have stayed together so long.
The golf pictures were great and it was helpful that you identified the players.
My last dinner out with my dad was at the Lexington so that restaurant has a special meaning for me. Hope you all have a great Christmas Lunch. My best to you and all the guys.
A Merry Christmas to all. Don Dupaul

Going off line for 2 weeks:
Dear friends and relatives. Nov 20th I will be undergoing lung surgery to remove a " squamous non small cell " cancerous tumor. The prognosis is good, stage 1 or 2. They will remove the right upper lobe and a few lymph nodes to be sure and that will be it. I hope!!!!!!!
If you would pray for me that will help a lot. I will contact you in two weeks. God bless you and get a chest Xray.

Happiness ! -- Hugh Morrissey

I'm from the Cretin class of 1954. I noticed on your web page that John T. O'Connor is listed "u" (unknown). I worked with John at MSI Insurance for close to 30 years. Sadly, I report for your information that John passed away a few years ago. He had been retired and was living on a lake near Longville, MN.

We had 2 notes concerning Ray Sailer:
First one from Ray:
As some of you know, I have been diagnosed with Kidney cancer on my left kidney. I am scheduled for surgery Wed May 14 at Del Webb Memorial Hospital to remove that kidney. Looks like my golf game will be out of commission for approx. 6 weeks. I also would appreciate jokes and E mails to be curtailed as I will be in the hospital for about 3 days and probably not feeling up to doing much for the 1st week or two upon my release. Will keep you posted upon my release. Also thinking about changing my E-mail address due to all the junk mail I have been receiving at the present address. Seems like I have gotten on every prescription, mortgage and porn list, somehow as well as many others.
Thanks for your cooperation.  --  Ray

Second one about Ray:
The surgery went fine this morning. Ray is feeling sleepy and sore, but otherwise is doing fine. (Until the morphine wears off . . .) The doctor said there was no evidence of cancer spreading, so that was good news. Ray will be in the hospital about five days. Right now he is not too excited about visitors or phone calls, but once he is home and recooperating for six weeks --( I wouldn't mind visitors.) He said to thank all of you for your prayers.
Obviously, they worked.  --  Carol

Tried to meet with John Madden last month in Palm Springs. John is not doing well. He has elected to stop his treatments for lung cancer. We had set up a time to meet, but he was unable to make it. Since we were very close all through grade school and the early part of high school, I don't think he would have missed our meeting if there was any way to make it.

Daughter of the late John J. O'Phelan checking in to say hello. I stumbled upon this website and am so happy to see that there is such a place for you to come together! As an update, my dad passed away in 1994, leaving behind 9 children and what has now become an equally impressive number of grandchildren, who are all well and good. So far - I am the only offspring to have attended our great school ('97)- but I know that the next generation has CDH in its plans. I hope all is well with your families and lives and am certain that you are ensuring that the legacy lives.

Howdy from San Diego: John, thanks for the luncheon invite. If I lived close enough I'd even follow the snowplow to be there. Do you still get snow??? The following Saturday (15th) Cathy and I are expecting the arrival of our 17th grandchild, (a girl) to our son and daughter-in-law up in Seattle. Just thought I'd brag a little bit. Save my Glenlivet on the rocks for "later". Have a good one.Dan

Retired from Family Practice for five years now and still live in Mahtomedi. Play golf regularly with Bob & Pete Willwerscheid, Terry Henderson, Peter Loveland and occasionally Gy O'Brien. Lunch regularly with the boys at O'Gara's the second Tues. of the month. Got my health straightened out this year and now am fine. Eight grandkids that are a ton of fun. They like me better than my kids did. Visit Dr. Tom Kaim in Venice Fla. when I'm short of funds. He has lots of room in a mansion in a gated community. Everyone should visit him when you can.

Great idea to have a web site. This is the time of life to see old friends and find out what's going on. I have lived in San Luis Obispo for the last 24 years and have our four kids scattered about the state. Staying pretty busy. Playing racquetball 3 days a weeks, work out the other two. Still heavily involved in business (investment real estate) plus composing music(www.cierniamusic.com). Just had a recital of my works performed by the head of the piano department at Cal. Poly University. Haven't yet figured out what the word retirement means since I still put in 10 hour days. It's all self-induced and I'm not complaining, it's just that I stumble on an answer when people ask me if I'm retired. Would love to hear from you computer literate guys. If anybody is traveling between L.A. and S.F., please give us a call to stop by. Jim Ciernia

Just a note to let you know I was taken off the transplant list recently. They require a echo cardiogram every six months and that revealed pressures in the right side of the heart to be such that it would require a double lung transplant and they won't do that on someone my age. So back to regular treatment mode. I'm doing Ok but walking really makes me short of breath, plus some other activities.Hope all is well with you. Peace Jerry Nichols
