| In March of 1999, Joana and I traveled to Portugal, mainly to get her visa status changed from tourist to student. We spent some time in Lisbon, and visited Evora and Porto. | |||

| Evora--after visiting Sintra, we returned to Lisbon, took a ferry across the Tejo, and headed southeast to the town of Evora, in the Alentejo. We stayed in the old center of town, which is surround by Moorish city walls. | |||
