A few scenes from the yearly Sexton
Family Picnic–which historically has been mainly Sean's paternal grandfather
Ted's descendants (1st cousins), but also quite a few descendants of Ted's
father Bill (2nd cousins). This year, we were also joined by some
distant cousins–the Blanchards–connected through Sean's great-grandma Liz.
Since the range of people that this picnic always
covers is so broad, and our family so large, we only have a tiny fraction of
the entire family here. I'm guessing that only about 5% of the
extended family makes it to one of these picnics on any given year.

Georgia, with John. We'd never met Georgia, and she told the story
that she remembered her sister going to dance in high school with "Johnny
Sexton", and her mother saying, "You know, I think he's a cousin of yours". |
