Joana was off on Friday, and I took
the day off, so that we could head out to a tractor show in Jordan. We
also met our friend Rick and daughter Sarah out at the show. I'm quite
interested in these tractors, having grown up with an old John Deere and an
old Ford, but I had never been to one of these shows.

Older
Farmall, reminiscent of the Cub, with "cultivision" (I believe) |

I
generally like the red Farmalls, though my favorite old tractors still have
to be the old John Deere's |
 |
| Apparently
a Farmall Super C, with some sort of cultivator attached |

around in the stroller while we were at the show, and seemed pretty

A "newer"

which I know absolutely nothing about |
 |
These old
John Deere's are my favorite look, having grown up with an H in the yard.
Here's a '41 "B" |

| I like
seeing the tractors that aren't restored, but still in good condition.
This is how I remember our "H" |

Another

 |
| The H was
built between 1939 and 1947. We probably bought ours sometime around
1970 and used it into the early 1980's. |

We move
into "Ferguson Alley". The Jordan show this year featured lots of
tractors owned by a Ferguson enthusiasts club |

Oh,
apparently a Ford. This might be the 8N Jubilee model |

 |
| The show
also featured a handful of old steam-powered tractors, which were closer to
the size of steam locomotives |

these date to the first decade of the 20th century, roughly. |

These
things would occasionally fire up their boilers, pull out of steam alley,
and drive around the fair for a bit |

| There was
also an area for old cars and trucks, though in far fewer numbers than the
tractors |
 |
I really
liked this beautifully restored old pickup truck |

I thought
this was cool--a grandpa driving a kid (grandson?) around on an old John

| One of the
main attractions at the show was running an old thresher, driven by one of
the steam-driven tractors |

On Sunday, after Lucy's first
birthday party on Saturday, we spent the first part of the day out at the
Minnesota Renaissance Festival (where Sean used to work, teaching juggling).
Lucy got to see two shows, both of which she loved–The Dewdrops, and Theatre
of Fools. It was great to wander around Festival again, and meet lots
of old friends.
